"Traffic" is a contemporary thriller set against the backdrop of the United States’ ongoing drug wars as seen through a series of intertwining stories. Ohio Supreme Court judge Robert Wakefield (Michael Douglas) has been appointed the nation’s Drug Czar, his new position made more daunting by the discovery that his teenage daughter Caroline (Erika Christensen) is a cocaine addict.

A pregnant trophy wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) struggles to control the drug smuggling business kept hidden from her for so long while two DEA agents (Luis Guzman and Don Cheadle) protect a witness who can finally break the infamous Obregon drug cartel run by her husband.

In Mexico, a corrupt, yet dedicated cop (Benicio Del Toro) struggles with his conscience when he learns that his new boss may not be the anti-drug official he made himself out to be.

It’s a story where nobody gets away clean.
